BANGKOK, May. 28, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Lebanon defeated Sri Lanka by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Monday afternoon.
The result put the Lebanese top of Group 5 with 12 points. Sri Lanka is third with one point. In their last game, Lebanon will meet second-placed Thailand on May 30, while Sri Lanka will face Pakistan.
