TASHKENT, Apr. 27, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Turkmenistan defeated Taiwan by a big score of 5-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Friday afternoon.
The result put the Turkmens second in Group 7 with 6 points. Taiwan is bottom with no points. In their next game, Turkmenistan will meet group leaders Uzbekistan on May 3, while Taiwan will face Jordan.
