AMMAN, May. 5, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : Uzbekistan defeated Taiwan by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Uzbek top of Group 7 with 13 points. Taiwan is bottom with no points. In their last game, Uzbekistan will meet second-placed Jordan on May 7, while Taiwan will face Turkmenistan.
