BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Apr. 14, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : The United Arab Emirates defeated Brunei by a big score of 12-1 (halftime: 5-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Emirati top of Group 8 with 3 points. Brunei is bottom with no points. In their next game, the United Arab Emirates will meet third-placed India on April 26, while Brunei will face Yemen.
