MALé, Apr. 28, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : The Maldives tied 1-1 with China (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Maldivians second in Group 9 with 5 points. China is third with 4 points. In their last game, the Maldives will meet group leaders Indonesia on May 6, while China will face Cambodia.
