DOHA, Oct. 4, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (Asian Qualifiers) : The United Arab Emirates defeated Qatar by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night.
The result put the Emirati second in Group B with 10 points. Qatar is third with 9 points. In their last game, the United Arab Emirates will meet Oman on October 19, while Qatar will face China.
