PORT HARCOURT, May. 5, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (African Qualifiers) : Nigeria defeated Liberia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Liberians top of Group B with 12 points. Nigeria is second with 10 points. In their next game, Liberia will meet Ghana on July 1, while Nigeria will face Sudan.
