ABIDJAN, Apr. 22, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (African Qualifiers) : Ivory Coast defeated Congo-Brazzaville by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Ivorians second in Group D with 10 points. Congo-Brazzaville is bottom with no points. In their next game, Ivory Coast will meet group leaders Tunisia on May 20, while Congo-Brazzaville will face Madagascar.
