HARARE, Mar. 11, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (African Qualifiers) : Zimbabwe defeated Malawi by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Zimbabweans second in Group E with 6 points. Malawi is bottom with one point. In their next game, Zimbabwe will meet group leaders South Africa on May 5, while Malawi will face Burkina Faso.
