SAN JOSé, Jun. 20, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Jamaica by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (Final) on Wednesday night.
The result put the Costa Ricans second in the group with 10 points. Jamaica is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet third-placed Honduras on July 1, while Jamaica will face Trinidad and Tobago.
