MEXICO CITY, Sep. 5, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (American Qualifiers) : Mexico defeated Trinidad and Tobago by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (Final) on Wednesday.
The result put the Mexicans second in the group with 13 points. Trinidad and Tobago is bottom with one point. In their next game, Mexico will meet group leaders Costa Rica on October 7, while Trinidad and Tobago will face Honduras.
