MEXICO CITY, Sep. 3, 2000 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (American Qualifiers) : Mexico defeated Panama by a big score of 7-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
The result put the Mexicans second in Group C with 9 points. Panama is bottom with one point. In their next game, Mexico will meet group leaders Trinidad and Tobago on October 8, while Panama will face Canada.
