MEXICO CITY, Oct. 8, 2000 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (American Qualifiers) : Mexico defeated Trinidad and Tobago by a big score of 7-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Sunday.

The result put the Mexicans top of Group C with 12 points. Trinidad and Tobago is second with 12 points. In their last game, Mexico will meet third-placed Canada on November 15, while Trinidad and Tobago will face Panama.
