KINGSTON, Aug. 16, 2000 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (American Qualifiers) : Jamaica defeated El Salvador by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.
The result put the Jamaicans top of Group D with 9 points. El Salvador is second with 3 points. In their next game, Jamaica will meet Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on September 3, while El Salvador will face Honduras.
