BOGOTá, Aug. 16, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (South American Qualifiers) : Peru defeated Colombia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night.
The result put the Colombians 6th in the group with 19 points. Peru is 7th with 15 points. In their next game, Colombia will meet third-placed Ecuador on September 5, while Peru will face Uruguay.
