SAN CRISTóBAL, Oct. 6, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (South American Qualifiers) : Venezuela defeated Peru by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday night.
The result put the Peruvians 7th in the group with 15 points. Venezuela is 9th with 13 points. In their next game, Peru will meet group leaders Argentina on November 8, while Venezuela will face Paraguay.
