SAN CRISTóBAL, Nov. 8, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (South American Qualifiers) : Venezuela defeated Paraguay by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Thursday night.
The result put the Paraguayans second in the group with 30 points. Venezuela is 8th with 16 points. In their last game, Paraguay will meet Colombia on November 14, while Venezuela will face Brazil.
