BELGRADE, Aug. 15, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Yugoslavia defeated the Faroe islands by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.

The result put the Yugoslav third in Group 1 with 12 points. The Faroe islands is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Yugoslavia will meet Switzerland on September 1, while the Faroe islands will face Luxembourg.
