BASEL, Sep. 1, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Yugoslavia defeated Switzerland by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Yugoslav third in Group 1 with 15 points. Switzerland is fourth with 11 points. In their next game, Yugoslavia will meet second-placed Slovenia on September 5, while Switzerland will face Luxembourg.
