LUXEMBOURG, Sep. 5, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Switzerland defeated Luxembourg by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday night.
The result put the Swiss fourth in Group 1 with 14 points. Luxembourg is bottom with no points. In their last game, Switzerland will meet group leaders Russia on October 6, while Luxembourg will face Yugoslavia.
