ISTANBUL, Jun. 2, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Turkey defeated Azerbaijan by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Turk top of Group 4 with 14 points. Azerbaijan is bottom with one point. In their next game, Turkey will meet Macedonia on June 6, while Azerbaijan will face Slovakia.
