MINSK, Oct. 11, 2000 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Belarus defeated Armenia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Belarusians second in Group 5 with 6 points. Armenia is bottom with one point. In their next game, Belarus will meet third-placed Ukraine on March 24, while Armenia will face Wales.
