MINSK, Sep. 1, 2001 (AMP) — Korea Japan 2002 (European Qualifiers) : Ukraine defeated Belarus by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2002 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Ukrainians second in Group 5 with 13 points. Belarus is third with 12 points. In their next game, Ukraine will meet Armenia on September 5, while Belarus will face Poland.
