Oct. 9, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Uruguay by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday.

The result put the Argentine second in the group with 18 points. Uruguay is 7th with 10 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Chile on October 13, while Uruguay will face Bolivia.
