Oct. 9, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (South American Qualifiers) : Brazil defeated Venezuela by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday.

The result put the Brazilians top of the group with 19 points. Venezuela is 6th with 10 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Colombia on October 13, while Venezuela will face Ecuador.
