Nov. 17, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Brazil by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday.

The result put the Brazilians second in the group with 20 points. Ecuador is third with 16 points. In their next game, Brazil will meet Peru on March 27, while Ecuador will face Paraguay.
