Jun. 4, 2005 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Argentina by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday.

The result put the Argentine top of the group with 28 points. Ecuador is third with 23 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet second-placed Brazil on June 8, while Ecuador will face Colombia.
