Jun. 8, 2005 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (South American Qualifiers) : Argentina defeated Brazil by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday.

The result put the Argentine top of the group with 31 points. Brazil is second with 27 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet Paraguay on September 3, while Brazil will face Chile.
