Oct. 13, 2004 (AMP) — Germany 2006 (European Qualifiers) : Sweden defeated Iceland by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2006 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

The result put the Swedish top of Group 8 with 9 points. Iceland is 5th with one point. In their next game, Sweden will meet second-placed Bulgaria on March 26, while Iceland will face Croatia.
