Uruguay beats South Korea to reach World Cup quarterfinals
PORT ELIZABETH, Jun. 26, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Uruguay qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 win against South Korea (halftime: 1-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
Luis Suárez scored dual goals
Uruguay dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Luis Suárez in the 8th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Uruguayans further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Suárez with just 10 minutes remaining in regulation time.
