Argentina beats Mexico to reach World Cup quarterfinals
JOHANNESBURG, Jun. 27, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Argentina qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a 3-1 win against Mexico (halftime: 2-0) on Sunday night at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
Carlos Tévez scored dual goals
Argentina dominated the first half thanks to goals from Tévez ('26) and Higuaín ('33). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Argentines further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Tévez in the 52nd minute.
