Germany beats England to reach World Cup quarterfinals
BLOEMFONTEIN, Jun. 27, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : Germany qualified to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup with a 4-1 win against England (halftime: 2-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Thomas Müller scored dual goals
Germany dominated the first half thanks to goals from Klose ('20) and Podolski ('32). Leading 2-1 at the break, the Germans further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Müller '67, '70).
