Netherlands beats Uruguay to reach World Cup final

CAPE TOWN, Jul. 6, 2010 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 : The Netherlands reached the FIFA World Cup final for the third time in their history with a 3-2 win against Uruguay (halftime: 1-1) on Tuesday night at the Cape Town Stadium.

Dutch defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst opened the score in the 18th minute, before seeing Uruguay catch up in the 41st minute thanks to Diego Forlán. 1-1 at half time. The Dutchs eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Sneijder ('70) and Robben ('73).
