PYONGYANG, Jun. 7, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (Asian Qualifiers) : North Korea defeated Turkmenistan by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Koreans top of Group 3 with 8 points. Turkmenistan is bottom with one point. In their next game, North Korea will meet third-placed Jordan on June 14, while Turkmenistan will face South Korea.
