KUWAIT CITY, Jun. 8, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (Asian Qualifiers) : Kuwait defeated Syria by a score of 4-2 (halftime: 2-2), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night.
The result put the Syrians third in Group 5 with 5 points. Kuwait is bottom with 4 points. In their next game, Syria will meet group leaders Iran on June 14, while Kuwait will face the United Arab Emirates.
