HAVANA, Sep. 6, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (American Qualifiers) : The United States defeated Cuba by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Americans top of Group 1 with 6 points. Cuba is bottom with no points. In their next game, the United States will meet second-placed Trinidad and Tobago on September 10, while Cuba will face Guatemala.
