PORT-AU-PRINCE, Sep. 10, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Haiti by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group 3 with 9 points. Haiti is third with one point. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet Suriname on October 11, while Haiti will face El Salvador.
