PARAMARIBO, Sep. 10, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (American Qualifiers) : El Salvador defeated Suriname by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Salvadorans second in Group 3 with 6 points. Suriname is bottom with one point. In their next game, El Salvador will meet third-placed Haiti on October 11, while Suriname will face Costa Rica.
