PARAMARIBO, Oct. 11, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (American Qualifiers) : Costa Rica defeated Suriname by a score of 4-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Costa Ricans top of Group 3 with 12 points. Suriname is bottom with one point. In their next game, Costa Rica will meet third-placed Haiti on October 15, while Suriname will face El Salvador.
