QUITO, Oct. 12, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Chile by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Chilians fourth in the group with 13 points. Ecuador is 6th with 12 points. In their next game, Chile will meet third-placed Argentina on October 15, while Ecuador will face Venezuela.
