PUERTO LA CRUZ, Oct. 15, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Venezuela defeated Ecuador by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday night.
The result put the Ecuadorians 6th in the group with 12 points. Venezuela is 8th with 10 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet second-placed Brazil on March 29, while Venezuela will face Argentina.
