MONTEVIDEO, Mar. 28, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Uruguay defeated Paraguay by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Paraguayans top of the group with 23 points. Uruguay is third with 16 points. In their next game, Paraguay will meet Ecuador on April 1, while Uruguay will face Chile.
