LIMA, Jun. 7, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Peru by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Sunday afternoon.
The result put the Ecuadorians 6th in the group with 17 points. Peru is bottom with 7 points. In their next game, Ecuador will meet Argentina on June 10, while Peru will face Colombia.
