QUITO, Jun. 10, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Ecuador defeated Argentina by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday afternoon.
The result put the Argentine fourth in the group with 22 points. Ecuador is 5th with 20 points. In their next game, Argentina will meet group leaders Brazil on September 5, while Ecuador will face Colombia.
