LIMA, Sep. 5, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Peru defeated Uruguay by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Uruguayans 7th in the group with 18 points. Peru is bottom with 10 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Colombia on September 9, while Peru will face Venezuela.
