MONTEVIDEO, Sep. 9, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Uruguay defeated Colombia by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday night.
The result put the Uruguayans 6th in the group with 21 points. Colombia is 7th with 20 points. In their next game, Uruguay will meet Ecuador on October 10, while Colombia will face Chile.
