PUERTO LA CRUZ, Sep. 9, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Venezuela defeated Peru by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Wednesday night.
The result put the Venezuelans 7th in the group with 21 points. Peru is bottom with 10 points. In their next game, Venezuela will meet second-placed Paraguay on October 10, while Peru will face Argentina.
