PUERTO ORDAZ, Oct. 10, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (South American Qualifiers) : Paraguay defeated Venezuela by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup (Qualifying Tournament) on Saturday afternoon.
The result put the Paraguayans second in the group with 33 points. Venezuela is 7th with 21 points. In their last game, Paraguay will meet Colombia on October 14, while Venezuela will face Brazil.
