TIRASPOL, Sep. 6, 2008 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Latvia defeated Moldova by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Sheriff Stadium in Tiraspol.
The result put the Latvians top of Group 2 with 3 points. In their next game, Latvia will meet Greece at the Sheriff Stadium on September 10, while Moldova will face Israel.
