ATHENS, Oct. 10, 2009 (AMP) — South Africa 2010 (European Qualifiers) : Greece defeated Latvia by a score of 5-2 (halftime: 1-2), in a qualifying game for the 2010 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night.
The result put the Greek second in Group 2 with 17 points. Latvia is fourth with 14 points. In their last game, Greece will meet Luxembourg on October 14, while Latvia will face Moldova.
